RAMBAN: District Development Commissioner, Showkat Aijaz Bhat chaired a meeting to review arrangements being made for ensuing celebration of Eid-Ul-Azha in the district.
Among others SSP, Anita Sharma, ADDC, Nawab Din, ADC Dr. Basharat Hussain, ACR, Harbans Lal, ACD, Xens PDD, PHE, CAHO, CMO, CEO, Dy. SP Traffic, Tehsildars, President of MC Ramban, President Beopar Mandal, Imam of Masjids, religious leaders, Meat and chicken association, officers of PWD, FCS&CA, MC and other concerned departments attended the meeting.
The DDC directed the Assistant Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department to ensure availability and proper distribution of Ration, LPG and other essential commodities. He stressed upon the officers of PDD and PHE to provide uninterrupted electricity and drinking water supply to the people especially during festival days.
Municipal Committees of Ramban, Banihal and Batote were directed to ensure cleanliness and sanitation in and around the Masjids and Eidgah besides roads and streets leading to places where congregation prayers would be offered.
Tehsildars were directed to ensure sanitation and other arrangements in their respective jurisdictions. Traffic police was instructed to ensure traffic regulation and parking of vehicles near Masjids and Eidgah.
DDC asked the CMO to ensure that medicos and para-medicos attend the duty as per the roster, and keep ambulance service in a state of readiness at religious places where main congregations are scheduled to meet any exigency during the festival.
DDC directed the ACR, SDMs, MC, CAPD and Police Department to conduct regular market checking, for maintaining quality of commodities and also to check overcharging on essentials especially chicken, mutton, vegetables, fruits, milk products and bakery are made available to the consumers.
DDC provided one lakh each to three Municipalities of Ramban, Banihal and Batote for improving street light system especially around religious places.
